Getting help
Redraft is a writing coach, not a counselling service. Our team is not watching writing as it is typed, and nobody is on call at every hour of the day.
If someone is in danger, call 000. For anything else,
the services below are free, confidential and available now.

What happens when we are worried about a student
- Every piece of writing is screened before any grading model reads it. A piece that raises concern is held, and the student sees a neutral message — “your feedback is taking a little longer than usual” — so nothing signals that their writing was picked up.
- The safeguarding lead and a backup person review it, and follow our written escalation policy, which is being reviewed by a child-safety advisor and a lawyer.
- Writing that discussed a topic rather than describing something happening to the student is released quickly, so a student is never left waiting over a false alarm.
Monitored hours
During the pilot, concerns are reviewed between 7 am and 9 pm local time, every day, including weekends . [Confirm monitored hours before launch.] Outside those hours, a concern is picked up at the start of the next monitored period. Nothing urgent should wait for us: call 000 or a help line above.
